Curved box

Because my dad knows a lot about wood (he used to make pianos) I asked him for help for this project. Had so much fun with him making the bent wood :•).

Had to mix polyester with a catalyst; quickly spread it over a thin layer of wood; spread again, a new  layer of wood and so on. The colour of the layers of wood was also taken into account. All this was strongly tied up in a mould, which consisted of two pieces of wood, cut with a curved shape. Thing is, when the polyester and the catalyst were mixed, it became VERY hot, so it was kind of tricky to handle. This was the fun part.

Once I had the curved pieces of wood, I cut them and put them together to make the box and the inner divisions. The result being:

Wood (bent laminates)

Wood (bent laminates)

Wood (bent laminates)
